The Buddha sits on a black and red lacquered lotus throne in the virasana posture. He has a slim body with an oval face, highly arched eyebrows and a sweet smile on his lips. His hair is topped by a flamed rasmi. His left hand on the lap is facing palm up in the meditation position or dhyana mudra and the right hand rests on the knee and points to the ground, slightly touching the earth. This position is better known as “calling the earth to witness” or bhumiparsa mudra. Wood with red and black lacquer/ gold leaf.
